Upgrading to a paid plan with Stripe checkout
Moving from Free to Starter, Pro, or Scale takes a few clicks and runs through Stripe. This article walks through the flow and what to expect afterward.
Starting an upgrade
In the billing Plans UI, the interface reads your live entitlement and shows your current plan. Choosing a paid plan opens a confirmation gate, then redirects you to a Stripe Checkout URL for that subscription. Stripe handles the payment — HIIE never stores your card details.
What happens on success
After checkout, Stripe calls HIIE's webhook, which grants your plan's monthly credits and records the plan on your account. The webhook is idempotent: if Stripe re-delivers the same event, you won't be granted credits twice. On completion you're returned to your dashboard with a success indicator.
What you get
Your plan's monthly credit grant lands in your managed-inference balance — for example, Starter grants 1,400 credits, Pro 6,930, and Scale 10,500. Credits are granted with the 30% margin taken once, so the balance reflects actual inference value you can spend at cost.
Notes
- Stripe must be configured for checkout to work; otherwise the request returns a "Stripe not configured" response.
- In staging, the billing rail may resolve without a real charge, while the credit-granting effect is still exercised.
- You can add one-time top-ups on top of any paid plan for extra capacity that never expires.
