The Documents folder backbone and the nine project folders
Documents is your project's encrypted folder backbone. Every project ships with the same fixed set of backbone folders, shown as tiles you click to navigate, so your files always have a consistent home.
The backbone is encrypted
The backbone is stored in Cloudflare D1 and encrypted at rest with AES-GCM. Each project and folder is scoped to your account, and content is encrypted before it's written, so files are isolated per project. This is server-side, operator-decryptable encryption — the key never reaches your browser, but it is not zero-knowledge.
Folders map to project phases
The backbone folders are purposeful, not arbitrary. A few of them directly drive how progress is read across the project: Documents (your briefs and context), Flows (saved flows and run records), Design (CAD and schematics), and Outputs (packaged deliverable bundles). When any of these holds content, the corresponding project phase — Intention, Project, Invention, or Product — is marked complete.
Smart labels keep files findable
Files in the backbone carry smart labels — tags like Research, Spec, Design, Legal, Finance, Manufacturing, Marketing, or Misc — that show up next to each file. Labels can be set by you or applied automatically by Camelia, so even a folder with many files stays scannable.
Navigating the tiles
Click a folder tile to open it and see its files. By default the browser surfaces the occupied folders so the view isn't padded with empty tiles; empty folders fold into a collapsed "Unused folders" section you can expand when you need them.
