Reviewing designs in Schematics and downloading STEP or STL files
Design → Schematics is where you review your generated designs and pull down the files you need. It gathers everything CAD-related for a project into one place.
What Schematics shows
Schematics auto-renders the newest completed design in a model-viewer canvas so you immediately see your latest part. Below that it lists all of your designs, each with:
- A STEP download (it falls back to STL for local designs).
- A delete option.
It also renders any BOM, parts, or schematic markdown documents it finds in Documents/Design, so AI-generated sourcing plans and notes appear alongside the 3D models.
Downloading STEP vs STL
- Download STEP when you want to open the part in CAD software (such as Fusion 360 or SolidWorks) or send it for manufacturing.
- Download STL when you're sending the part to a 3D printer. For local HIIE Engine designs, the download falls back to STL where appropriate.
A note on BOMs
Any BOM or sourcing document shown here is produced by the manufacturing specialist as markdown. Part numbers in it are AI-suggested to help you start sourcing — they are not checked against a live parts catalog, so verify availability and pricing with your suppliers before ordering.
